| Aged, venerated Moses dead, the powerful city facing them, the valley full of hostile strangers far into the distance, rugged mountains all around, joshua gazed across the river and feared they'd all be dead within a week of crossing. Then, called by God himself, joshua steeled his heart, took courage in the words that God had given him, "Be strong. Neither be dismayed, for as I was with Moses, so will I be with you; never will I leave you nor forsake you." He gazed across the Jordan River at the valley, the land, the plains and mountains, the walls of fortress city Jericho. Try as he might, he could not see Tomorrow. |
