| Pariah to Massiah | ||||
| The zealot's zealot, Saul, the dreaded persecutor, the ultimate hunter, he was "No Mercy." In every city, in every street he sniffed out followers of Him where ever they might be assembled, turned them every way but loose...;until one day the sun exploded, much as Saul could tell. It left him blind and cowdering beside the road with his stuned friends. He thought he'd never see again. The sun, a lightning bolk, whatever it had been, had Saul's attention: right there on the road to Damascus that boy got religion. Then the voice, "Saul." In terror Saul cried out, "Who speaks?" The answser back, "The one whom you pursue." And now - get this - the voice gave him directions to find and listen to a man named Ananias when he'd arrive, once his companions guided him into the city. From that day forth, Saul's life was changed. Big time. From zealot to advocate, from Saul to Paul who traveled wide throughout the land, all over teaching in the temples and the synagogues, exhorting all to follow what he taught to them of the Master and his lessons. Now there's a turn-around: from hunter to healer, from Pariah nearly to Massiah, from bringer of disaster to preacher for the Master. I guess if I had seen the sun explode and leave me blinded, I'd be listening to the voice, and I'd pay real good attention, for I'd be changed too...Big Time. |
